Day 3 DR Spring 2025

Hi everyone, it’s Lexi, Ava, and Nate! It’s day 3 here in the Dominican Republic.Today Nate, Lily and Anna made an extravagant breakfast, including blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, and delicious fruits. Once we were done eating, we all got ready to go play an intense game of basketball and volleyball with students from a private school here in Santo Domingo. We unfortunately lost the majority of the games but we still managed to play with lots of effort in the scorching heat. While at the park with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ we took the time to pray with each other and we expressed our gratitude towards each team. Lily, Nolan, Will, and Nate gave 4 of the students their shoes as a sign of appreciation. We also gave them ODCS basketball shirts, so that they would remember such a great day. When we were done playing basketball, and volleyball we went back to Kafalé and had a delicious lunch and some down time to rest, before going out to play another round of basketball and volleyball! Unfortunately the boys did lose the basketball game, but still played very well. The girls on the other hand played two rounds of volleyball, which they lost the first game, but came back with the win on the second game! After we were finished playing, we gave cookies and soda to all the kids. We then went back to the church for the rest of the day and had a wonderful dinner. After dinner the boys decided to play basketball, while some of the girls sat and watched from the balcony and the other girls painted a cabinet.

We all felt like today has impacted us in many ways. We all were able to spread God's love not just with words but by our actions and help not just each other but everyone else grow in their faith. It’s so fulfilling to see each and every kid smile, even though they understood very little, they were so grateful. We are so grateful for this opportunity to reach out to our brothers and sisters.

Please be praying for good health and energy for the rest of the trip and that we are able to make an impact on others that we meet along the way.
