Day 3- January 2026 DR Mission Trip
Hi, its Ellie. Today I started my morning off by making breakfast for the group with Elijah. We made eggs, sausage, toast, and I cut up some avocado. When I was setting the table when Elijah brought a dead cockroach to my face and it was quite disgusting and I almost slapped him haha. Then we got ready and had church. Isaac and Elijah helped with worship and Mr. Zaleski preached the gospel message to the church. A volleyball team came to church and after church we had a time to share our testimonies. I went first and explained how the Lord ahs worked in my life and brought up Matthew 16:24-26, and explained to them the importance of going against our flesh and taking up our cross. Claire also shared her testimony and Kaity shared a time where the Lord worked in her life. At the end, one of the girls actually gave her life to Christ which was extremely encourging, praise God! After, I spent a lot of time getting to know the volleyball girls and trying to understand them as we ate lunch together. I have a lot of fun trying my best to speak Spanish. After we played volleyball in the street for while. It was fun becasue they were good! After they left, I took a much needed nap before we left the Colonial Zone where we got to learn about Dominican history. That was super facinating! When we got back we had dinner, it was AMAZING. The food here is so much better, espicially the avocados. Then I played volleyball with my friends- Matthew who is 7, and Jeremiah who is 9. I usually play all sports everyday with them because they live right next to the church. Then I lost to Mrs. Zaleski in dutch blitz (but beat Mr. Z) and now we are getting ready for bed.
Some prayer requests that would be so helpful, if you could pray that we would all be present and focus on loving and connecting with everyone here, and for good rest at night, because our days are very long. Thank you!
