Day 2- January 2026 DR Mission Trip

My name is Isaac Falk, and I have the incredible God given opportunity to be a part of this Dominican Republic missions trip. I started my journey today waking up from a delightful two whole hours of sleep! Suffice to say I was not the most awake person on their way to breakfast. However, that all changed when we were greeted the most incredible empinatas I have and probably will ever have! But, as amazing as breakfast was, thats not what made today special. The whole teams mission today was to go to a drug rehabilitation half way home. We were going to share the gospel, testimonials, fellowship and help wherever we could. We arrived and soon after we grabbed some chairs and headed outside together. We formed a circle and were treated to some Spanish songs of praise. What followed was a truly touching moment of openness, both from people on the trip and the people we had met there. I found myself with sincerest honor of being able to share a short devotional. I was accompanied by a translator who I later got to know better. I felt the Lord put a message on my heart the moment Mr. Z told us we were heading to a rehab center. I shared that our God is a God of the good times, and of the bad times. I know that is something everyone in the world has in common, something we all share as humans. There are times when you just don't think you can go on. There are times I have thought that exact thought. But only by God, and His love and His mercy, have I been able to get where I am today. Only by His guiding hand. Only by His healing. And that is something that I felt I needed to tell those men. I didn't know each and every one of their stories. But I know God does. And He has been with each and every one of them from the begining, and will be until the very end. I wanted them to know that whatever lies in your past, God can fix and restore. Wherever you are in the present, God will strengthen you . And wherevere you go in the future, God will be there every step of the way. We all have our scars, but though the scars of Christ that he got from his Crusifiction, are we saved and made new in His everlasting goodness. Pastor Tito prayed us out and shared truly personal and empowering words. And from that point until we ate lunch we swept, scraped away old paint, and repainted the home. It was truly a touching time being able to work shoulder to shoulder with those men, and just amazing to see them all on their individual journeys. All coming from different places, with one common bond in Christ. We ate an incredible lunch with them, as all our food has been delicious so far, and headed back home to the Church. From there, some had siesta time, while me and Elijah were lucky enough to be a part of the church services worship team. I had a smile on my face the entire time. With Elijah on guitar and me singing and our DR freinds being absoulte musical masters, I found myself so so grateful  to be on this trip! Thank you if you made it this far! This is Isaac Falk signing off!

Please be praying for energy as we continue the in the week!
