DR Winter 2025: Day 5

 Kaitlyn:

Hola! We started out today with an amazing breakfast of pancakes and fruit from Ellison and Spencer. Then we headed out into the community for some street evangelism with crackers and coffee. We had the opportunity to pray for many people and spread the message of the gospel. After that we went back to the church, ate lunch, and hung out for a little while. Then we made some sandwiches to take with us to Las Brisas. When we arrived at Brisas, we set up a volleyball net and got ready for hours of fun! We made bracelets, played volleyball and baseball, and pet a super cute puppy. It started raining while we were there, but that made it all the more fun. When the rain stopped, we performed a skit we made for the kids and handed out the sandwiches. After that, we sadly had to say our goodbyes and head back to the church. We ate dinner, had debrief, and hung out for the rest of the night.

As we're nearing the end of the trip, we would love prayer for these things:

- Perserverence through the tiredness

- Good and fruitful last full day

- Growth in relationships

Mikayla:

Que lo que/KLK? (or what's up?!). This morning the sun rose on another wonderous day. The fragerance of fresh pancakes wafted through the air. Chef Ellison prepared the warm meal, as Spencer grew and harvested the cereal. After our internal organs were satisfied with the meal within us, we got prepared for the extravagant day ahead of us. We gathered coffee and crackers and headed to the community. I was beckoned to pray for the first person we encountered. This experience challenged but encouraged all of us. After this we headed back to base to refule the troops with some delicous avocado and cheese sandwiches, which were washed down with a delectable passion fruit juice. This meal, while delicous, required that we must observe siesta time (like every other day). I spent that time napping on the balcony and lurking above the basketball extravaganza. Soon after, the troops regathered after much needed rest and set out in a packed van to Las Brisas. Upon arrival, we set up a volley ball net and began to play. Soon the children started to gather and fun ensued. Rain came, wind blew, but the good times still pursued. Once the rain died down, an epic drama was performed staring me as the villain going through a redemption era. Sandwhiches were then dispersed amongst the wonderful people. The troops then piled into the van and set off for base once again. At base, a meal of the finest rotisery chicken and glorious mashed potatos was provided. This meal encouraged deep complentation during debreif time. Afterwards the troops have been able to unwind with relaxing games of dutch blitz and writing this very poetic blog post.

Thank you for reading this and supporting our mission. Some ways you can pray for us are:

- That we would soak in all that God has planed for us here

- That we would be grateful for everything that has happened thus far

- Lastly, that we would make incredible and unbreakable relationships within this upcoming last full day
